Playing with Fire... and Brimstone
Kevin M. Nelson, November 27, 2012
As if there weren’t enough signs of spiritual deterioration in the public forum these days, some are taking blasphemous exaltation to a new and dangerous level.
I could not help but cringe as I looked upon a social network post about a painting of President Barack Obama wearing a crown of thorns on his head with arms out-stretched as if being crucified, scheduled to be prominently displayed at a college art event in Boston. I shook my head in disgust and thought surely this is just the creation of a twisted individual, a trashy atheistic waste of paint that will create a stir and then be forgotten.
Imagine then my anger when the very next day I read reports of actor Jamie Foxx referring to the President as “our lord and savior”.
If you shrug this off or find some level of irreverent humor in any of this, I must assume that you truly have no belief in Jesus Christ, or perhaps you simply welcome the wrath of His Father?
Make no mistake- God will not be mocked. (Galations6:7)
Now for those who like to play the “do not judge” card, or as I like to call it the “be quiet and have no sound judgment” card, please refer to 1Timothy 4:6 and then tell me how we are supposed to keep the truth to ourselves.
On the off-chance that you are some liberal whack-job who has perverted Christian doctrine to the point of buying into this new presidential-Messiah persona...
Snap out of it!
Let’s get a few things straight before you walk blindly toward eternal damnation:
Jesus Christ, who walked the earth with the Old Testament/Torah as His Bible, would not come back as a man who has openly mocked the teachings of the Old Testament. A simple internet search of ‘Obama Mocks the Bible’ and you will find the 2007 speech on YouTube.
He would not come back as a man who opposed a ban on Live-birth Abortion.
(see: Leviticus 20)
He would not come back as a man who has been supportive of Homosexuality.
(see: Leviticus 18:22, and 1Corinthians6:9) or the redefining of Marriage.
(see: Genesis 2:24, and Hebrews13:4)
So let's all just see this for what it is- blatant blasphemy on the part of those who follow Obama a little too religiously, who view him as something great and heroic, to such an extent they would attempt to mock the real Savior, the true King of Kings, Jesus Christ.
