About the Admin., Kevin M. Nelson
Who is Kevin M. Nelson? He was born April 4th 1976, exactly three months before our Nation’s Bicentennial, to Dennis and Mary Nelson of Bellingham, Massachusetts. The only son of an only son, like generations before, he became the first Nelson male in three generations not to eventually participate in the family’s tire and repair business. Often teased for his parents’ ultra-conservative Christian views and his tall lanky appearance, he turned to knowledge and humor to survive those younger years. Teachers didn’t know whether to let him teach the class, or give him detention for his class clown antics. His love of both arts and sciences would eventually lead him to pursue an education in plant sciences at Norfolk County Agricultural High School, where he graduated in 1994, and Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts- Amherst, where he graduated with honors in 1996.
From March of 1991 to September of 2010, Kevin worked at a high-end wholesale greenhouse in Medway, Massachusetts. He started part-time sweeping the floors and cleaning the bathroom, and was quickly promoted, eventually becoming the Head Grower of the operation in 1998. He watched as the economy sucked the life out of the company around 2007, and often worked ten to as many as eighteen hours per day as the recession took hold and resulted in layoffs and lost positions. By the time he left the company after almost twenty years, he was not only responsible for the labor and crop scheduling, fertilization, plant pathology, and entomology aspects of the company, but was also heavily involved in product development, marketing, and sales.
In 1998, Kevin found his singing voice, and enjoyed karaoke in his free time. In 1999, he took the Main Stage at Woonsocket, Rhode Island’s Autumnfest celebration, as an amateur winner in their annual talent show. This would be the first of six appearances in as many years. 1999 was also the year Kevin met his eldest daughter’s mother, Andrea, and they later married in the spring of 2002. Andrea already had a young child named Witney, when the two met, so Kevin became a father figure almost immediately. In 2006, after only four years, the marriage ended. Kevin would then spend two years as a single father to daughter Gabrielle.
In the fall of 2008, Kevin met Kristen Houle, who he would later discover had grown up in the church that he now attended in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Both grounded in the same Christian principles, it would not be long before they sought the blessing and counsel of a pastor, and were married in their church in August of 2009. Nine months later, their daughter Morgan Savannah was born.
With the loss of his job in September of 2010, and wife Kristen’s almost simultaneous transition from maternity-leave to layoff, the two were now in new unfamiliar territory. Firm in their faith, they would cite God as being their source of provision. On November 3rd 2010, in the midst of financial uncertainty that now included *unemployment, Kevin Nelson had an awakening. More discontent than ever with the liberal agenda that he saw as destroying his great nation, and no longer content to just leave the future in the hands of career politicians, he took this new found passion he attributed to his Creator, and began a social network page to start gathering support for the Presidency. Knowing the Constitution would confirm his eligibility, firm in his faith, and confident he could be a new conservative voice for America, he began preparing for the monumental challenge and mustering support, all between his daily searches for employment. After seven long months of searching and interviews, Kevin found employment again in March of 2011, and continued to balance campaigning with a full-time job, unrelated to politics. Also in 2011, Kevin was introduce to and affiliated with America's Party, later unsuccessfully seeking their presidential nomination in early 2012.
The campaign for President has been restrained by lack of funding and an inability to grow a good base of support, along with time constraints of balancing full-time employment with a Presidential run. Though Kevin has not officially withdrawn from the race, he has been preparing to take that step and will reportedly endorse Tom Hoefling of Iowa for the 2012 Presidential election.
